Kienle and Carfrae Crowned Kona Champs

Congrats to Profile Design SpeedTeam pro 2010, 2013 and now 2014 World Champion, Mirinda Carfrae! Carfrae swept the race in trademark run-them-down Rinny form, arriving in T2 over 10-minutes back off the lead female cyclists and turning on the heat to rein them in one by one. In the meantime, she posted a new run course record of 2:50:25, beating her 2013 record setting marathon by 12 seconds.   Rinny was powered on the bike course by the Profile Design Aeria bar and the Aero HC Hydration System, helping lay the groundwork for the awesome finish. From everyone at the Profile Design Ohana - CONGRATS, Rinny! Click here to check out the Profile Design products that powered Rinny on the Queen K! Kienle a Queen K Rocketship On the men’s side, SCOTT Pro Triathlon Team member Sebastian Kienle took home his first Kona World Championship title with a time of 8:14:18. His trademark bike ability helped him pick up places with expert precision as he approached Hawi, returning down the Queen K to secure the day’s fastest bike split in 4:20:46. He maintained his powerful placement during the run, with no one in sight as he came out of Energy Lab. Along the Queen K, Kienle piloted the bike that gave him the European Championship title. The new SCOTT Plasma 5, developed in partnership with Profile Design features a fast, powerful and aerodynamic front-end, utilizing the patented Profile Design Aeria bracket and riser system, while also providing a glimpse at the new 2015 T5+ extension.
