Proving to be the superstar that she is, SpeedTeam pro Kate Bevilaqua conquered a loaded field to take the win at Ironman 70.3 Busselton. With two second place finishes in Busso, Kate arrived to the start line thirsty for the win - and took it in spectacular fashion.
Bevilaqua exited the water in second position, and rode solo for most of the day through Busselton’s Tuart Forest. A small group of women caught her with 15K to go on the bike, sending her into T2 alongside two prime competitors. Her rocket ship 1:25:13 run sealed her victory by nearly two minutes.
“I threw caution to the wind and went for it at the beginning of the run, hoping my fitness would allow me to get across the finish line first,” said Bevilaqua. “It did - and I'm over the moon to come away with the top podium position!"
