Just 4 weeks off of a stunning 2nd place performance at IRONMAN Texas, SpeedTeam/TwentyFour pro Julia Gajer ran away with the victory at Challenge Kraichgau.
Kraichgau featured a thrilling duel on the run course, with Gajer and eventual 2nd place finisher Gina Crawford running together for 14K, neither slowing the pace. In the final few meters, Gajer pushed the pace to escape Crawford’s sights and clinch her 3rd podium of 2014. “It was for me probably the hardest race I’ve ever contested in the Kraichgau,” said the winner minutes after her victory.
Fellow SpeedTeam/TwentyFour Pro Laura Philipp rounded out the top 4.
Gajer’s 5,310 Kona Points put her in 15th place on the Women’s Kona Points Ranking System. The 750 points awarded by WTC-owned Challenge Kraichgau seal her spot on the 2014 IRONMAN World Championship start list.
